As its name implies, the course Comparative Criminal Law (Perbandingan Hukum Pidana)  will study the criminal Law with comparative  approach. Due to the time constraint, the area of comparative study will be limited only on some fundamental ssues such as: criminal offense, criminal liability, and defenses. Comparative analysis will be made upon several jurisdictions especially the US, England, and Australia. In addition, some issues will also be reviewed based on Islamic criminal jurisprudence as it is interesting topic for the purpose of comparative study. Feuerbach's work entittled Versuch Einer Criminaljurisprudenz des Koran (1804) laid down the basis of comparative criminal law study in contemporary time.
